Slacker Momma!

This momma is a slacker! I haven't even finished posting our vacation pictures :)  I am so far behind at this point that there is no catching up...and it's not worth stressing about, so I'm going to post a few highlights to catch up on our year and hopefully get back to regular blogging!  Here's to a new start!!! Mitchell Family Vacation - Day 4 - Boston, part 2

Our second day in Boston was another hot one...I think it got up to 106 that day.  Since we spent the whole day previously in the sun and were going to be outside for the next two days of our vacation, we decided to keep cool and do something indoors.  Brandon's brother has a pass to the Museum of Science, so we took the kids there.  They had a great time.  After dinner that night we headed out to our hotel in New Jersey for our next adventure...

Callie dressing up like a bird in the giant nest.

Callie the bumble bee hard at work.

Cameron identifying rocks...he's figuring out which rock is used to make toothpaste...

He discovered what sulfur looks...and smells like.

Testing rocks to see which one salt is made from...

Mitchell Family Vacation 2011 - Day 3 - Boston

After the falls, we spent the rest of the day driving.  We stayed in Albany, NY that night.  The next morning we got up and drove the rest of the way to Boston, Massachusetts.  Brandon's brother lives near Boston and had been wanting us to come visit for a while, so we decided to make that one of our stops.

The traffic was horrendous in Boston and the drivers were the rudest I've ever seen.  I guess that's why they call them "Mass Holes".  We finally made it to Jeff's house....headed out to get some lunch and then to the beach.  It was a million degrees out, so I had been looking VERY forward to spending a day in the water.

They took us to Wingaersheek Beach.  It was a very nice beach, very clean, and the water felt awesome.  The kids played in the tide pools and it was so fun watching them.  It was Callie's first time in the ocean, so it took her a little while to warm up, but once she did, she had a blast!  We spent several hours there and enjoyed every second.  I didn't want to leave!  Needless to say we were exhausted and slept pretty well that night!
