What is our 1 year old up to?

Callie is doing ALL sorts of amazing things. She does something new almost every day. She keeps us on our toes for sure! She is so energetic, happy, and lights up a room! We get so many compliments on her eyelashes, dimples, and her adorable personality. She is so friendly and outgoing and talks, blows kisses, and reaches for anyone who pays attention to her!

She has mastered peek-a-boo, she covers her mouth when she coughs, jabbers while looking at a book, then giggles like she just read something funny, she loves to sing and dance, pretends to talk on her phone and text (can't imagine how she learned to do that), loves hiding blocks or small toys inside of things, and I could go on and on about the things she's learning...

She is also starting to follow simple commands. If you say things like "Can I have a kiss?", "Give daddy your binky", "Find your book", etc. she will do what you ask. She is also pointing at things when you ask. For example, the other day she was looking at a Clifford book and I said "Where's the doggy?" and she pointed to the dog.

Her favorites are definitely her books. She spends hours a day looking at her books and jabbering away. She also loves anything that has buttons and makes noise or plays music. She LOVES music. Anytime a commercial with music comes on the TV she stops in her tracks to look. One of her favorites right now is the Brawny commercial where the paper towel guy sings "Lean on Me". She also very much (for some reason) likes carrying around her socks. She hides them everywhere!

Her stats at her one year check up:
She weighs 15 pounds 4 ounces (< 1st>
She's 27 1/4 inches long (5th percentile)
Her head measured 47 cm. (25th percentile)

Callie is eating VERY well (much like a teenage boy). She will eat pretty much anything, but oddly still prefers baby food over anything else. You cannot eat in front of her unless you plan on sharing. She LOVES to eat! She's drinking milk and is starting to get used to it, but I'm still nursing about 3 times a day. She's just not ready to give it up yet. I'm in no hurry for right now, but we'll see how things go in the next month or so.

Callie finally got her first tooth 5 days before her birthday. She got her second one about 2 1/2 weeks later.

Our girl is wearing size 1 diapers still. We switched to 2's a while back and they were way too big and she was leaking out of the legs because they didn't fit against her tight enough. We bought another box of size 1 - 2 diapers from Sam's and they are starting to get pretty snug, so we're going to try size 2's again. She's wearing 6 month clothes. 9 months are still a little big on her, but the 6 month things are getting short in the legs. She's wearing size 1 shoes....and I wish she would grow at least into a size 2 because that is the size that all of the REALLY cute shoes start at :)

She has been pulling herself up on things for months now. She's also been cruising around things for quite a while. Right now she cruises around things barely holding on with one hand and she's quick! In the last few weeks she's been letting go and walking 2 - 3 steps between objects (ottoman to couch) independently and also between two people. She seems to be pretty fearless so far when it comes to letting go and taking off, so I really look for her to be walking very soon.

I'll only post a few pictures since there were tons in the last few posts. I have so many cute pictures of her, it's so hard to choose :)

Reading her Yo Gabba Gabba book upside down :)
She's always happy when food is involved!
Taking a break from composing her latest song to cheese for the camera.
As much as she loves to sing, dance, and listen to music...I have no doubt she'll be a star one day!!! :)
A fake smile as we wait for the doctor at her one year check up
